Self-Storage Frequently Asked Questions
After serving Calgary with mobile self-storage for 15 years, we have a good idea of the questions you may have. Please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to find the answer to common questions. If there is anything we are missing, feel free to give us a call. We're happy to talk.
A: Pak-n-Stor™ offers three choices for our customers:
- You choose to self-insure, which means you assume all risks.
- You choose an insurer of your choice while your goods are in storage – such as your home insurance provider.
- You choose to insure with Pak-n-Stor’s insurer. Contact us for further details.
A: Yes! We understand that you have more free time on Saturday and Sunday, so we are happy to leave the QuikPak™ storage containers with you over the weekend. We’ll pick them up Monday or the next business day.
A: No. When the order is placed, we ask for specific instructions for where you would like your QuikPaks™ placed onsite at your location. When you arrive back home, your QuikPaks™ will be where you wanted.
A: No, whether we place your QuikPak™ on your driveway, or on the street in front, you will not need a permit.
A: No, the benefit of our system is that you do-it-yourself and save on expensive labor costs. However if you do require help loading your QuikPak™ containers, we can refer you to a partnered moving company.
A: Sorry, we do not rent or sell boxes. Ask at your local liquor store, supermarket or home centre. They always have empty boxes around.
A: Most of our clients automatically pay by credit card on the first of each month when rent is due. You do have other choices such as cash or cheque.
A: Each QuikPak™ is delivered via our truck-mounted forklift delivery system. This keeps your goods safe from shifting as we lift each unit straight up and straight down. We can have up to six QuikPaks™ delivered at once, which saves you on expensive delivery costs.
A: There are double doors in the front of our QuikPak™ storage containers, and they are locked by a padlock of your choice. This way only YOU have access to your container and you keep the key until you’re ready to view your belongings.
A: We can deliver within hours of placing the order if required or the next day.
A: Take as much, or as little time as you require. We can accommodate all schedules.
A: Usually, a regular sized household will use 3-6 QuikPaks™, however give us a call as we have the experience to better determine how much space you require. We can always send one extra QuikPak™ and if you don't use it there is no charge.
A: You can store up to 2000 lbs of belongings in each QuikPak™ storage container.
A: Absolutely! You can access your container at any time during regular business hours. Just call us 24 hours in advance and we’ll schedule a time for you. You will be able to drive right up to your Quikpak™ in the warm, heated, sheltered comfort of our warehouse.
A: It is weather resistant to all elements, and for even more protection our custom weather tarps are added to each container before they go out.
A: Our billing period is by calendar month. From the first to the end of the month – which covers storage costs for the entire month. You may use the QuikPak™ storage container for less than 1 month but the minimum charge of 1 month will be applied.
A: Each QuikPak™ storage container measures 5′ wide by 8′ long by 7′ tall and stores approximately 1 – 1.5 rooms.
